Background:
Adjuntas is located along the Central Mountain range, north of Yauco. It has one of the highest mountain peaks on the island, Guilarte Peak, with and elevation of 3,953 ft. Adjuntas' annual precipitation is 87 inches, and its average temperature is 72°F. Adjuntas' main attraction is Monte Guilarte Forest Reserve, a beautiful and lush tropical site. The Forest is divided into seven segments which span among the municipalities of Adjuntas, Guayanilla, Peñuelas and Yauco. The trails are excellent for hiking and the views at the pinnacle are breathtaking. On a clear day you can see both Ponce and San Juan without the aid of binoculars.
